I simply do not believe that District 97 has made the necessary and possible cuts in administration required to substantially reduce administrative costs. Substantial cuts are still possible without affecting the number of classroom teachers.

The school system and the Dist. 97 school board have also failed to pursue modifications in the TIF which would increase revenues.

Homeowners’ pocketbooks should be the last resort in rectifying financial shortages, but in real terms, they are the first resort for district school officials and board members. It’s just so much easier to tax than to do the work necessary to find necessary funds elsewhere.
