The Illinois primary is next Tuesday, March 20. If you can resist grabbing a Republican ballot to mess with that party’s endlessly weird presidential sweepstakes, then we’d like to remind you of who we endorsed last week in the relevant Democratic races here in Oak Park and River Forest.
7th State Rep: River Forest voters cast ballots in this Proviso-tilted district. We strongly support Rory Hoskins, currently a Forest Park village commissioner. We actively oppose Emanuel Chris Welch, the president of the failed Proviso high schools. Princess Dempsey and Beyonca Johnson are also on the ballot.
78th State Rep: We narrowly endorsed Camille Lilly, an incumbent by virtue of having been appointed to the seat. She’s bright and capable. We also liked Michael Nardello, who has more focus on the state’s economic meltdown.
7th Congressional District: Again, we endorse Cong. Danny Davis over a challenger we admire in River Forest’s Jacques Conway. But our ardor for Davis is waning and we were happy to have, at least, a reasonable option in Conway.
