Oak Park police saturated downtown Oak Park early Halloween evening to stay ahead of any possible repeat of the teen takeover which brought mayhem to the area one year ago.

As of 6:30 p.m. there were dozens of Oak Park officers and ranking officers deployed from Harlem to Kenilworth. Officers stood on street corners while squad cars were lining the street just west of the Target store in what appeared to be a command center.

On a lovely fall evening, there was considerable activity along Lake Street with young people and adults in costumes moving along the street. But there were no indications of major clusters of teens.
