Oak Park property owners should be aware that Sept. 1 is the deadline for appealing their 2026 tax assessments with the Cook County Board of Review.
Earlier this year, the Cook County Assessor’s Office mailed new property tax assessments to all Oak Park property owners, after which taxpayers had their first opportunity to file an appeal. The second appeal period is with the Board of Review. Taxpayers seeking to file with the board can set up an appointment with the experienced staffers at the Oak Park Township Assessor’s Office by calling 708-383-8005 during regular business hours.
Taxpayers should also be aware that the Cook County Board of Review will be hosting a forum in Oak Park on tax appeals on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m. The forum will take place at the Beye Elementary School auditorium, 230 N. Cuyler Ave. in Oak Park.
