The Oak Park and River Forest High School cross-country programs are inviting the community to participate in their third annual Night of Miles at the school’s track and field stadium. The event, which is scheduled to start at 5 p.m., Aug. 13 (rain date Aug. 14), serves as the unofficial start of the cross-country season.

The schedule of events is as follows:

  • 100-meter dash for students from kindergarten to second grade
  • 400-meter dash for grades three through five
  • Mile run for grades six through eight
  • One-mile community walk
  • One-mile community run

Participants who complete registration before Aug. 1 will be guaranteed their preferred shirt size. Those interested can register online at https://oprfhs.revtrak.net/athletics/Athletics-Cross-Country/xc-events/
