For book lovers, donating books to the Friends of the Oak Park Public Library’s annual book sale is the ultimate win-win!
You clear your bookshelves of unneeded but gently-used volumes; the Friends sell them at the July book sale, with proceeds benefitting the library.
Beginning May 30, you can drop off your donations at the front desk of the main library (or on Saturdays drive them around to the loading dock, where volunteers can help you unload).
And the sooner we receive your much-appreciate donations, the sooner our wonderful volunteers can sort through the tens of thousands of volumes we receive ahead of the July 10-12 sale.
What can you donate? Histories, novels, children’s books, cookbooks, poetry, CDs, DVDs — just about anything in good condition. For specifics, check out our website: https://www.oppl.org/about/friends-of-the-library/annual-book-fair/
Last year, we broke all records raising over $40,000 for library programs! With your help, we can do ever better this year.
So channel your inner Marie Kondo and clear your head and your shelves! And then return in July to find new treasures. Along the way you will be helping us make our 54th Annual Sale a success in raising funds for one of Oak Park’s most important institutions: our public library.
