Oak Park police are investigating the reported sexual assault of a child in the village. 

A juvenile Oak Park resident was standing in the 700 block of Lake Street on April 6 when a man rode up on a bicycle and sexually assaulted them, according to police. The suspect then fled on his bicycle, according to police. 

The suspect is wanted on criminal sexual abuse charges, according to police records. 

Robbery on train 

A Hanover Park woman was riding a west bound CTA Blue Line train when she was approached by three suspects. One of the suspects tried to speak with the woman before he spit on her and punched her in the face, according to police.  

The other two suspects held her down and stole her cell phone. The three suspects fled the train at the Austin Boulevard stop, according to police. 

Aggravated assault arrest 

A 37-year-old Oak Lawn man was arrested in connection with a reported violent incident in Oak Park last year. 

The man was arrested in Bridgeview on charges of aggravated assault in connection with an incident that occurred in the 700 block of Lake Street on Dec. 18, 2025, according to police. The victim in the incident was a Maywood resident, according to police. 

These items were obtained from Oak Park’s Police Department reports dated April 6 – April 14 and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated. We report the race of a suspect only when a serious crime has been committed, the suspect is still at large, and police have provided us with a detailed a description of the suspect as they seek the public’s help in making an arrest.
