Oak Park police arrested a man last week in connection to a violent domestic incident in which the man reportedly choked the victim after attacking them with a knife, according to police activity reports.
Police arrested the 33-year-old man shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 5 on charges of aggravated domestic battery in connection with the incident in the 200 block of Washington Boulevard. The man had reportedly held a blade to the victim’s throat “in efforts to force the victim to have sexual relations,” according to the police report.
The victim escaped and called Oak Park police, according to the report. The felony charges against him were dropped after the victim “declined to cooperate,” but the man was charged with misdemeanor offense and held until his bond hearing, according to police.
Armed robbery arrest
Oak Park police made contact with a juvenile girl who’d been reported as a suspicious person in the 200 block of Lake Street Wednesday, May 6. Police learned through a name check, that she had been reported missing in Chicago and that she was being sought on a warrant tied to armed robbery charges, according to police.
Police arrested her and transported her to juvenile detention, according to police.
Battery arrests
Police arrested several people on battery charges last week, according to police reports.
Village of Crestwood police arrested a 40-year-old Orland Park man on charges of battery in connection with an incident that occurred in the 500 block of Austin Boulevard in Oak Park on Jan. 7, according to police.
Oak Park police arrested a 33-year-old Oak Park man on charges of domestic battery in connection with an incident in the 300 block of South Maple Avenue in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 7, according to police.
Chicago police arrested a 37-year-old woman on charges of battery connected to an incident that occurred in the 500 block of Madison Street in Oak Park on Feb. 9, according to police. Chicago police turned the woman over to Oak Park police who processed her and released her with a notice to appear in court, according to police.
These items were obtained from Oak Park’s Police Department reports dated May 5-May 9 and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated.
