James W. Lauderdale Sr., 76, of Oak Park, died on Dec. 1, 2020. Born on April 15, 1944, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Illinois State Police for over 25 years before his retirement.
James Lauderdale was the husband of the late Denise E. Lauderdale; the father of James W. Jr. (Angela), Sommer and Teragus (Tiffany) Lauderdale; the grandfather of Trevor and Briana, Imani, and Na’Avayah; the great-grandfather of 4; brother of Shelly Rae (Scharinell) and Everett (Tina) Lauderdale; uncle and cousin of many; and friend and former brother-in-law of Marie Lauderdale.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. until time of military honors, 12 noon (outside the funeral home) at Drechsler Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, a maximum of 10 people at a time, will be allowed in the funeral home. To enable others to pay their respects and to allow for social distancing, we ask that people pay their respects and move on so others will have an opportunity.
Private interment will take place at Oakridge Cemetery.
