The Oak Park Business Association Council and the Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce are holding the village’s first expo to connect local businesses with government taxing bodies.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 15, will feature over 20 representatives of finance, purchasing and procurement departments from various taxing bodies in the village, according to a Chamber of Commerce news release.
“This Oak Park Procurement Expo is an opportunity to facilitate connections between purchasing agents and representatives of local businesses,” according to the news release. “Businesses will learn about the kinds of products and services needed and the process to become an approved vendor, how to learn about opportunities and who best to contact in the various organizations.”
Procurement officers will be on hand to discuss the kinds of services they are looking to buy, and each will give presentations to prospective vendors.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Cheney Mansion, 220 N. Euclid Ave.
