No less than four people have asked me to write about Team Blonde’s newest business launch: Counter Coffee. Each of these folks have fawned over how wonderful the coffee shop is. More than one pointed out that it is fantastic to have an independent coffee shop presence in Forest Park, right on the strip.

Before I recommend the coffee, let me first say, the spot is bright, unique, and comfortable. There seems to be a steady stream of neighborhood regulars that comes and goes, or works throughout the day. I have already had one business meeting there. I’ve spoken with others that were on their way to Counter Coffee for a meeting of business associates or friends.

The coffee IS FANTASTIC. Intelligentsia coffee is one of my favorite roasters, already, but a good cup of cappuccino is prepared beautifully. There are other things on the menu that are great too. The oatmeal, an organic offering, with dried fruit and or nuts, while an instant brand, is particularly good.

The coffee shop offers a nice quiet place to log in and work. It has an open meeting room in the basement for larger groups or extended work. I didn’t tour though, don’t know if it is open officially yet.

Further, Counter Coffee has really great parking, there is a municipal lot katty korner on Circle and Madison. In the mornings, the 4 or five metered spots just outside the door on Circle seem to always have parking availability. In fact, the first spot (one quarter for an hour) is so convenient, I felt a little lazy parking just right there for an extended meeting.

My only need from the counter is a bigger menu board behind the cashier/ order spot. The little black board that is just now next to the register is not quite enough to know all the offerings easily. And I like signage. I really like good, easy to read, rather large creative signage. I’m sure the menu board is coming actually, everything else on location is just perfect.

Counter Coffee is located just at 7324 W. Madison, Forest Park
