The Chicago Jazz Festival bills itself as the largest free jazz festival in the world! It starts on Thursday, 8/30 and runs through Sunday, 9/2 in Millennium Park, Grant Park, and at the Cultural Center – just an El ride away from our area. Some of the big names this year are Allen Toussaint, Dianne Reeves, and Roy Hanes. There are many more perfo;rmers, so check www.jazzinchicago.org for a complete schedule of artists, times, and venues. YouTube features lots of clips from past festivals. You may want to get in the mood by going here first. And, don’t forget, it’s all Free!
