The newest member of the area’s live entertainment scene is “The Open Door Repertory Company” at 902 S. Ridgeland in Oak Park’s Arts District.  Visit on Saturday, 8/11 with showtime from 8 – 10pm for some great, local music.  You’ll hear Rough Around the Edges who play contemporary and traditional folk music, acoustically.  Also on the bill is Zozo who play pop, folk, swing, and, this is an interesting mix, traditional Irish and Scottish ballads.  For tickets and more details, see www.opendoorrep.org .

On Sunday, 8/12, it’s a Free Concert in Scoville Park at Lake St. & Oak Park Ave.  Hear Tropixsplosion who is a Caribbean show band with great vocals.  Bring your blankets, chairs and enjoy this last of the summer concerts.  Music starts at 5:30pm.  Get your feet tapping and fingers snapping when you watch their attached video.
