A day off from school and accumulating snowfall. Just the perfect combo for some sledding at Ridgeland Common in Oak Park, Monday, January 17, 2011. Photo by J.Geil.

The sledding hill at Ridgeland Common was a busy place Monday as light snow fell during a day schools were closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. It wasn’t exactly a winter wonderland, but there was just enough of the white stuff to make the slope a destination for those enjoying their day off.
