Who knows how old Homer Simpson really is, given that the long-running FOX television show has been on the air for more than 20 years now. But the voice of the patriarch of TV’s favorite cartoon family celebrated his birthday last Friday. Dan Castellaneta, an Oak Park native and graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School, turned 53 years old Oct. 29. He also does the voices of such characters as Grandpa Simpson, Krusty the Clown and Mayor Quimby. Castellaneta is a 1975 OPRF grad.
Fellow Oak Parker and comedienne Judy Tenuta will celebrate her 53rd birthday on Nov. 7. The stand-up comic came to fame in the 1980s with her ethereal “Love Goddess” persona, along with playing the accordion. She often encouraged audiences to convert to her own personal religion, “Judyism.”
