Elsewhere on Marion Street, a pair of downtown Oak Park’s serial entrepreneurs is at it again. Takara Beathea-Guidell and her daughter Miya are opening their third shop this fall.
Croix, a women’s clothing store focused on items priced at $99 or less, will open before Thanksgiving at 131 N. Marion St. The shop will be managed by Miya Beathea. Right now the mother-daughter combo operate Takara, a clothing shop, and Shoe Soko, a shoe salon.
The new store replaces Les Tableaux, a specialty store which focused on the rental of high-end flatware and glassware. Instead of running a retail location, the owners, Bryn and Dean Klovens, will shift their porcelain, flatware and glassware focus to other venues including a local bed and breakfast, Cheney Mansion events and will work through Maison Suzanne, another local retail shop.
