Oak Park and River Forest High School’s varsity boys cross country team took care of business in Saturday’s IHSA regional meet at Schiller Woods. Rainy conditions didn’t slow down the Huskies, who accounted for six of the top 10 finishers. OPRF’s Malachy Schrobilgen was the overall winner, running at a pace of 5:08 per mile and finishing with a time of 15:23.64.
The Huskies breezed to the overall team victory over Fenwick, Morton, Lane Tech and St. Patrick.
Fenwick’s Ian Barnett and Steve Blazer finished second and third, crossing the finish line five and six seconds behind Schrobilgen.
