A small park at the corner of Randolph and Grove will be expanded in the coming months to provide additional playground equipment and other amenities. The Randolph Tot-Lot, which is now bordered on the east by an alley, will be extended across that boundary to include another, similarly-sized parcel at the corner of Randolph and Oak Park.
A contractor was hired by the park district board March 18 and is expected to begin work on the project late this month. The renovations, about $300,000 worth, should be completed in early July.
The area that will be incorporated into the tot lot previously belonged to the municipality.
