Chicago 10th District police have arrested a suspect in the Monday afternoon theft of a Hickory Hills woman’s car in the 800 block of South Boulevard.
The woman was leaving work just after 5 p.m. when two young women walked up, pushed her and grabbed the car keys from her hand. The pair then jumped in the woman’s 2004 Audi and drove away westbound on South Boulevard. Witnesses told police they had noticed the women “just hanging” in the area for about 15 minutes prior to the hijacking.
Wednesday afternoon, Chicago police spotted the $30,000 car in the West Side’s 10th police district and arrested the lone occupant, Sherice M. Anderson, 21.
Anderson, of 1638 S. Trumbull in Chicago, was turned over to Oak Park investigators, along with the recovered automobile. Wednesday evening she was charged with vehicular hijacking. Anderson had a bond hearing this morning at the Maybrook courthouse, and will appear again Friday for arraignment.
