A new Tri-District Equity Committee established by the three public school districts in Oak Park and River Forest is coming into being. The new body is a gesture of unity and a signal that the districts are committed to seriously confronting the race-laden academic opportunity gap between students.
The Huskie Wrestling Family, an Oak Park-based nonprofit that's affiliated with the Oak Park and River Forest High School wrestling organization, recently received a $5,000 grant from the Rotary Club of Oak Park-River Forest.
St. Vincent Ferrer School, located at 1515 Lathrop Ave. in River Forest, will get a new principal starting July 1. John Glimco, 56, will replace Charles Terry at the helm of SVF. Terry had served in the role for six years.
