New seating, carpet, paint and the restroom fixtures and tile really look nice. A lot has been done, even though the theater wasn’t in that bad of shape, in my opinion. The movie selection is first-class and varied, and even the popcorn is pretty darn good.

Property tax bills arriving this week
Oak Park residents should receive the first installment of 2008 property tax bills this week. Payments, which can be made online or through the mail, are due by March 3, according to Township Assessor Ali ElSaffar.

Cable box regulation?
The Village of Oak Park is considering a law to specifically regulate above-ground utilities, such as the 55 or so cable boxes that AT&T has installed since 2007 for its U-Verse cable television service.
