New seating, carpet, paint and the restroom fixtures and tile really look nice. A lot has been done, even though the theater wasn’t in that bad of shape, in my opinion. The movie selection is first-class and varied, and even the popcorn is pretty darn good. It is so nice to be able to walk to a movie, enjoy the tranquil experience and get something to eat after the film. As Ken Trainor says, it is a great escape. The Lake Theatre is the real anchor of downtown Oak Park, and the Johnson family (owners) and management are to be commended. They put a lot into the community and deserve our thanks and support.
