Kathryn Stockett’s novel, The Help, was published in 2009 by Putnam. Her first novel made it to New York Times Best Seller list and now it is a movie playing at the Lake Theatre. My objections are that it is written by a white woman using, or attempting to use, black English, and the Hollywood-effect presents some of the characters “over the top.”
