Circle Theatre brought home three Jeff Awards Monday night during the 39th annual Non-Equity Jeff Awards presentation.
Chuck Sisson won best actor in a principal role (musical) for his performance in “The Baker’s Wife.” Circle Theatre’s production of “Urinetown” won two awards – Kevin Bellie won for his choreography and Jesus Perez won for costume design.
All told, four of Circle Theatre’s productions received 10 nominations, including “The Baker’s Wife,” “Urinetown,” “The Women” and “A Little Night Music.”
The Jeff Awards are organized by the Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee to recognize achievements in theater throughout the Chicago area. Non-Equity awards recognize theaters whose productions are presented without union contracts. There is a separate “Equity” awards presentation, which takes place in October.
