Timothy “Tim” Charles Kuhfuss died on July 11, 2014 in Laramie, Wyoming of ALS complications, surrounded by his family, parents, and loyal dog. He is loved and cherished by many.

Born on June 28, 1961 in Chicago, he lived in Oak Park until 2011 and graduated from Ascension, Fenwick High School, Marquette University (B.S.), Johns Hopkins University (M.S.), and the University of Chicago (M.B.A.).

He was the director of Research Support for Information Technology at the University of Wyoming and past CIO of Information Technology at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont. He started his career at the National Institutes for Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

In his three years in Wyoming he had many happy memories with his friends, family, Shannon’s boyfriend Justin Stewart, and his dogs, Louie, Funky, and Butkus.

An avid outdoorsman, sports enthusiast, and beer connoisseur, he had a passion for coaching basketball, cooking, sci-fi, technology, and fly fishing.

Tim Kuhfuss leaves behind Colette (CeCe), his wife of 30 years; his daughter, Shannon; his son, Hunter; his parents, Chuck and Roberta (Stack) Kuhfuss; and his sisters, Linda (Tim) Keelan and Katie (Charles) Porretta. He was the son-in-law of Dan and Marilyn DeWitt; the brother-in-law of Michael (Susan) DeWitt, Phil DeWitt, and Renee (Jeff) Bisbee; the godfather of Jill Porretta and Rory Keelan; and the uncle of 13 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Foundation can be made.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18 at 9:30 a.m. at Ascension Church, followed by a memorial service at 11.
