Ross Dress for Less® (“Ross”), the nation’s largest off-price apparel and home fashion chain, is the newest addition to Cermak Plaza in Berwyn. In partnership with the City of Berwyn and Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC), Ross Dress for Less, located at 7065 W. Cermak Road, held a grand opening celebration on March 5. The 27,000 square foot store is part of the Cermak Plaza redevelopment project.
Ross has approximately 1,300 locations in 34 states, the District of Columbia and Guam. The opening of the Cermak Plaza location makes it the 49th store in the Chicagoland area. Ross offers first-quality, in-season, name brand and designer apparel, accessories, footwear and home fashions for the entire family at savings of 20% to 60% off department and specialty store regular prices every day.
As part of the grand opening in Berwyn, Ross made a donation to local non-profit organization Youth Crossroads, Inc. Customers shopping that day were also given a chance to win a $500 shopping spree.
7th Ward Alderman Rafael Avila stated, “It’s been about 6 ½ years since we started this journey to transform Cermak Plaza into a shopping destination that our community can be proud of. The opening of Ross Dress for Less creates over 90 jobs which is great for our community and would not be able to happen without the cooperation of the City of Berwyn, Berwyn Development Corporation and the shopping center owner, Andrew Bermant. Thank you to Ross for choosing Berwyn as their new home. Welcome aboard and I wish you much success.”
Jousef Mondragon, BDC Board President, stated, “Days like today don’t happen without collaboration of our partners, property managers and owners as well. This is not the end of our relationship it’s just the beginning as we will continue to support economic development, the community and people in our surrounding communities. The fact that we have 90 new jobs reflected in our community is tremendous.”
“We are excited to have Ross opening up in the community. Thank you to City of Berwyn, Mayor Robert Lovero and BDC Executive Director, Anthony Griffin for their time and effort. We are excited to have Ross open and thank you to the community for supporting this,” said Drew Begole, District Manager for Ross Dress for Less.
