Wednesday Journal published an editorial on Dec. 24 regarding the Park District of Oak Park’s pool referendum in March 2026.The editorial stated, “They have surveys saying a majority of villagers would support a mythical pool in an unnamed location at an unspecified price tag.” This is incomplete. The park district surveys show a high percentage of support for the proposed pool — among the survey responders.
There are no actual numbers of survey-takers or the total number of voters in Oak Park. Without complete information, the voters are not able to make informed decisions. I believe the park district must provide this information.
I have contacted the park district requesting them to do so. Wednesday Journal should also point this omission out and request the information from the park district.
