My first memory of Buzz Cafe goes back to the early 2000s when I was a student at OPRF: my musician friend testing his chops for the first time by playing at The Buzz. Later, my wife and I would stop by for coffee and admire a local artist’s painting of a sunset that hung on the wall. We loved it so much we ended up buying it, even though we were broke college graduates at the time. That painting still adorns our wall as a cherished reminder of those days. Later, when our kids were little, we’d stop in for treats after sledding at Barrie Park in the winter. Buzz became my go-to spot for coffee, and their almond croissants were addicting. When it was sold to Kribi, the vibe shifted and the place never felt quite the same, but I’ll always remember what it once was and what it meant to me.
