Who is the real Kamala Harris?

Vice President Harris is seeking the nation’s highest office but has failed to hold a single interview or press conference since starting her campaign (1). Harris has avoided the press like the plague, held rallies with the same stump speech, and is now attempting to rebrand herself.

On July 20 (the day before President Biden dropped out of the race), Harris had a 38.6% approval rating (2). Did she become a better candidate? Hardly. CNN reports, “In a departure from her presidential run in 2020, the Harris campaign has confirmed that she’s moved away from many of her more progressive stances, such as her interest in a single-payer health insurance system and a ban on fracking” (3). Remember that in Kamala’s failed presidential campaign, she raised her hand during the June 27, 2019 debate to affirm her opposition to private health care (4). So it appears that Harris’ rise in popularity is due to appearing more moderate.

Sure enough, Harris showed her true progressive nature by picking Tim Walz, a left-winger, who describes his progressive values as “One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness” (5).

First, he signed the “Trans Refuge Law,” which means that a Minnesota judge can weigh a parent’s refusal to “affirm” their child as a negative factor in custody decisions (6).

Second, Walz watched Minneapolis ignite for three days and cause $500 million in property damage before calling in the National Guard during the 2020 George Floyd riots (7). Moreover, a joint Minnesota Senate report found that Walz waited 18 hours after the Minneapolis mayor’s request for guard assistance before authorizing them, which allowed for a police precinct to burn (8).

Third, Walz misrepresented his military service record. In the words of his fellow Minnesota Guardsman Thomas Behrends, “On May 16th, 2005, [Walz] quit, betraying his country, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its soldiers hanging without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war” (9). Waltz also falsely presented himself as a combat veteran by claiming, “We can make sure those weapons of war, that I carried in war, are only carried in war” (10).

Don’t be fooled. Harris is the same person who attacked Robert Hur’s report as “gratuitous, inaccurate and inappropriate” over Hur’s findings that President Biden had a poor memory (11).
