A mother nurtures the life of her baby,
Does the work, no ifs, ands or maybe.
Mothers nurture with no contract agreed,
Working daily her children’s mouths to feed.
She strives to kindly show a good way of living;
Each breath she takes is one of giving.
She blesses her child each day to learn,
To succeed and have the freedom to earn.
Hour upon hour, caring through sorrow,
Tough and patient for a better tomorrow.
So those in charge of land and nation,
Born of such strong and mighty creation,
Please bring resilient hearts and skillful minds,
And, like mothers, serve all humankind.
