Edward Mark (“Nebs”) Niewierowski, 67, died on Dec. 17, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on Sept. 7, 1958 at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base in North San Diego County, Southern California, he was a 1972 graduate of Longfellow Elementary School in Oak Park, and a 1976 graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park.
He began working for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company as soon as he graduated high school and worked there until he retired. During those years he represented employees as the union steward. An avid hunter and sports enthusiast, he loved being a part of the Alley Gang softball team and also enjoyed four-wheeling with his friends at the Indiana Dunes or anywhere there was mud or sand. He had a wonderful memory and could recall many family memories and stories, so he was dubbed the family historian. He will be missed.
Ed is survived by his mom, Barbara Zubrod Hirt, and his siblings, Bob Niewierowski Jr., Andrea (Michael) Kennedy, Alicia (John) Alcock, and Amy (Dan) Klaibor. He was the uncle of several nieces, a nephew, and three great-nephews, and was preceded in death by his father, Robert Niewierowski Sr. and his beloved hunting dog, Beau.
Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. at St. Scholastica Parish, 7800 Janes Ave. in Woodridge.
Please join us for a get-together afterward.
