John “Jack” S. Grabowski of North Riverside, 91, died on Jan. 10, 2026. Born on Feb. 9, 1934, he was a member of the Holy Name Society at Mater Christi Church and was known as “John the Barber” for 47 years in Oak Park and also for his wall packed with lapel pins in his barbershop.
John was the husband of Joan (nee Kander); the father of Al (Libby), Sharon (Matt) Mostowik and Linda (Tim) Bronsteader; the grandfather of John Grabowski, Brian (Caitlin) Grabowski, Lauren (Justin) Rosenbloom, Jennifer (Steve) Gordon, Steve Bronsteader, Allison (Dariusz) Jarosz and Mike Bronsteader; the great-grandfather of Olivia, Isabella, Weston, Walker, Kacper and Jaxon; brother of the late Della (late Irv), late Ed (Pat) and the late Frank (Henrietta); and uncle of many.
Visitation will be held at Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Road, Westchester on Thursday, Jan. 15 from 3 until 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Jan. 16 at Mater Christi Church, with interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
