It is so upsetting to see companies care less and less about their customers and more and more about the bottom line at all costs. I can only assume that is why the Chase branch on Lake Street in Oak Park is closing its wonderful basement safe deposit vault and forcing all owners of safe deposit boxes there to clear them out. Having a safe deposit box at our bank, and the access we have to it, has been something I took for granted. But I guess once again, a big corporation like Chase does not care. So no safe deposit boxes for us, despite that seeming to be a basic service of this storied bank branch in our community. Shame on Chase. I am very disappointed in their business decision to close this safe deposit vault permanently.
