Last night I dreamt that WJ printed a letter from someone in London, writing about a magnificent specimen of an American sycamore tree in a London park, and agreeing “with Frank Stachyra that the ugly London plane trees could not compare in beauty to the Americans.” And hoping that many Oak Park backyards would soon have rows of sycamore seedlings being readied for transplanting locally, to preserve these treasures for future generations.
What wise words! Thanks for publishing it.
