Every year, we put together our Season of Giving section to shine a light on the organizations that strengthen and sustain our communities. And every year, we’re reminded just how remarkable this network of nonprofits truly is.
Across Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, Brookfield, Riverside, and Chicago’s West Side, these organizations work every day to make sure our community stays connected, cared for, and supported. Their missions differ, but their purpose is shared: to make life here better for everyone. Whether addressing hunger, housing, mental health, or education, they approach their work with compassion and collaboration, building something stronger together than any one could achieve alone.
We’re proud to highlight this incredible network of nonprofits and grateful to play our own small part. As a community newsroom, we have the privilege of connecting neighbors to these efforts and to one another. We love being at the center of this work. It is an awesome honor to serve as the connector for a community this strong, this generous, and this determined to care for its own.
Our deep thanks also goes out to the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation and the West Cook YMCA for the generous sponsorship of this section.
