An Oak Park and River Forest High School teacher has been on administrative leave since November after a student reported that he touched her inappropriately.

The longtime OPRF teacher received notice Nov. 22 that he was being placed on paid administrative leave after a female student reported to school officials that he’d touched her inappropriately, according to documents obtained by Wednesday Journal through a Freedom of Information Act request. The school district reported the incident to the Department of Children and Family Services and launched a formal Title IX investigation, according to the documents.

A spokesperson from the Oak Park police department said the case is still open and that officers are “working with the family.”

School officials declined to comment about the teacher’s status at OPRF, saying they do not comment on personnel issues. The teacher did not respond to a request for comment by publication.
