Janet (Jan) Hannigan, 89, of Oak Park, died at home with family by her side on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022. Born in Oak Park on Sept. 10, 1932, the only daughter of Ralph and Edith Davis, she graduated from OPRF High School in 1950. A woman of many hobbies, she enjoyed bowling, knitting and crocheting, was an avid book reader and a die-hard Cubs fan. She loved the Chicago Bears so much, she and her best friend of many years (Marion) would travel to Platteville each year to catch the preseason camp. She worked for West Suburban Hospital for many years, ending her career there as director of communications in 1986. Her last job before retirement was with OPALGA of Oak Park where she met and loved many new friends. She was known for her humor and friendliness. She loved meeting and talking to anybody and anyone. 

Jan is survived by six children, Kathi (Dave) Seibt, Christine Hannigan, Lori (Rose) Mireles-Hannigan, Michael (Kimi) Hannigan, Jennifer Hannigan, and Sara (Mike) Rowe-Hannigan; 15 grandchildren, Caitlin and Danny Hannigan, Kelsey and Krista Seibt, Samantha, Allison, Kevin and Kyle Hannigan, Ryan, Jocelyn and Dylan Davidson, and Ryan, Jordan, Brandon, and Aaron Rowe; five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Dr. James E. Hannigan Jr. and Robert K. Hannigan, her parents, and two brothers, Spencer and Seward Davis. 

Per her wishes she will be cremated, and a memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
