George McMahon, 98

George L. McMahon, 98, of Burr Ridge, formerly of Brookfield and Berwyn, died on Sept. 29, 2020. Born on Feb. 17, 1922, he served as a Naval Seabee during World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He was the longtime owner of McMahon Brothers Machine Works in Cicero.  

George was the husband of the late Lorraine (nee Kalles); the father of Patrick M. McMahon; the brother of the late Mary (Albert) Muisenga, Edward (Gladys), James (Phyllis), Lorrine (Michael) Murray, and Joan McMahon; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation was held on Oct. 5 at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 W. Madison St., Forest Park, followed by Mass at St. John of the Cross Church, with interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
