During a time where there is so much uncertainty and dishonesty throughout our land, even at the highest levels, on the home front I was reminded today that folks still do the right thing. A heartfelt thank you to the kind person who found the credit card wallet that I dropped outside White Lotus Chiropractic on Saturday around 2 p.m., and then handed it to a nearby Oak Park police officer parked in his vehicle.
Most of us know what it’s like to lose or misplace a wallet and the anxious feeling that follows. After retracing my steps in a panic but to no avail, by the time I returned home an officer was standing in front with my little green wallet in hand.
Thank you, good Samaritan, and also to the police officer who drove to my home to return my wallet. May someone pay it forward to you both. And thank you for reminding me that there is an abundance of kindness and care within our community.
