William P. “Bill” Northey, 98, a resident of Oak Park, died on Dec. 5, 2015. He was an Army veteran of WWII, an avid golfer, a volunteer at Rush Oak Park Hospital, and a eucharistic minister and lector at St. Giles Catholic Church.
Bill Northey was the husband of Winifred E. “Winnie” (nee Groak); the father of Helen (Vince) Clary, Winnie (Steve) Dillon, Patty (Jim) Aldworth, Bill (Cheryl) Northey, Mary Jean (Jim) Zaino, Tom (Meg), David (Veronica) and Stephen (Debra) Northey; the grandfather of 25 and great-grandfather of 10; brother of the late Eloise (the late Gordon) Herald and Bert Northey.
Visitation was held on Dec. 8 at Gibbons Funeral Home in Elmhurst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Dec. 9 at noon at St. Giles Catholic Church, 1025 Columbian, Oak Park. Interment is private.
