On Tuesday, Dec. 2, the West Cook YMCA will be participating in #GivingTuesday, which is a national initiative to encourage people to give back during this time of shopping frenzy. The Y changes lives every day by meeting community needs through programming that strengthens spirit, mind, and body.
The West Cook Y board has made possible $6500 in matching gifts for any donation made on #GivingTuesday. If the goal of $6,500 is reached, they raise a total of $13,000.
$13,000 will provide financial assistance for any of the following:
- 100 youth memberships
- 40 senior memberships
- 27 family memberships for
- 480 youth or adult swim lessons
- 260 Youth Basketball League participants

- $10 gives a youth one month of financial assistance
- $50 gives a senior two months of financial assistance
- $100 gives four youth or adults swim lessons for 8 weeks
- $500 gives a family one year of financial assistance
