Cook County Sheriff’s police charged a 30-year-old Chicago man in the Forest Preserve attack and sexual assault of a young woman walking home after a Homecoming dance, Oct. 3. Kevin Tillman, of the 4900 block of Adams in Chicago, was charged with criminal sexual assault, a class X felony, and unlawful restraint. He was scheduled to appear in bond court on Oct. 10 at the Maybrook courthouse, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Police said Tillman followed the teenager around 11:45 p.m. as she was walking home from the Forest Park Blue Line station westbound on Madison Street near First Avenue. Police said Tillman grabbed her, forced her into a nearby Forest Preserve area and sexually assaulted her.

The victim had been attending a dance in Chicago and taken the train back to the Desplaines Ave. Forest Park Blue Line stop, Sheriff’s police told ABC-7 Chicago.  She was walking home toward Maywood. The woman broke free and ran away from the attack, Sheriff Tom Dart told ABC-7.

Proviso Township High School District 209 issued a warning, Wednesday, to parents and students.

“Incidents like this remind us all about the safety precautions our students and others should take when they are walking around our area, whether it is to/from school or on the weekends,” the press release said.
