Juanita L. Kohl, 96, a longtime resident of Oak Park, died on July 27, 2014 in Bettendorf, Iowa. Born on October 19, 1917 in Chicago to Lewis and Hazel Morrison, she was a graduate of Ruggles Elementary and Calumet High School and received an
associate’s degree from Morgan Park Junior College. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles and was a former member of the St. Bernardine Women’s Club.
Juanita Kohl is survived by Chester M., her husband of 74 years; her children, Denise (Jerome) Sechser, Raymond (Harpal), Therese (James) Juliano and Marguerite (Dr. Randall) Miller; her grandchildren, Dr. Todd (Cara), Erik Sechser, Jill Sechser, Jamie Juliano, Jeffrey (Jenny) Juliano, Dr. Megan (Dr. Christopher) Reis and Matthew (Emily) Miller; and her nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Kohl.
Visitation was held on Aug. 5 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home in Oak Park. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 6 at St. Bernardine Church in Forest Park, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to benefit the welfare of animals are appreciated by the family.
