George T. Moore, 81, of Anchorage, Alaska, formerly of Oak Park, died at home on May 16, 2014. The eldest child of the late Daniel and Irma Thompson Moore, he graduated from Ascension School in Oak Park, attended Fenwick High School, and graduated from Cathedral High in Duluth, Minn. and Marquette University in Milwaukee.Â
Mr. Moore was a veteran of the Korean War. Before his retirement, he taught English Literature at West High School in Anchorage.Â
George Moore is survived by his wife, Dorothey; his former wife, Jeneane; his children, Tom, Colleen, Jim (June), Terry (Yuki), and Mike; his grandchildren, Nathan, Christopher, Michael, Trevor, Gabriel and Amanda; his siblings, Dan (Pat), Tim (Jennifer), Kay (Chuck), Mike (the late Pat), and Mary Helen. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy; his grandson, Connor; and his siblings, Pat, Nancy and Jim. Services with military honors were held in Anchorage.Â
