Scott and Jeanne Cochrane, of Northern Exposure Chainsaw Carvings in Homer Glen, Ill., created a 6 foot scultpure for Marc and Dorie Blessof, a former village board member and his wife, on Saturday, May 3.
“Our extremely large swamp maple was progressively hollow and we had been advised to take it down before it fell,” Marc wrote in an email. “We wanted to do something different, so we tracked down Scott and Jeanne.”
It took the wood carving duo a little under six hours to complete the project. Marc carved 9 owls and one sleeping racoon and Jeanne did the painting.
