Lewis “Lars” Lofgren, 76, an Oak Park native, and recently of Green Lake, Wisconsin, and Fountain Hills, Arizona, died on April 24, 2014 with Mary, his wife of 54 years, by his side.
He devoted his professional career to the founding and
development of Chicago’s ADE Inc. His passion for spirituality and learning drove his unending support of 4th Presbyterian Church in Chicago and Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis. He loved life, golf, cocktail hour and good conversation.
Lars Lofgren is survived by his wife, Mary Lehwald Lofgren; his children, Kurt (Eva), Jessica (Jon) Bedway, Jason (Peggy), Katherine (Kurt) Arbeen, and Jacob (Jenny); his siblings, Jane (Henry) Pearsall and Charles (Mary) Lofgren; his grandchildren, Mark, Erika, Mary Katherine, Jakob, Isaac, Isabelle, Lewis, Abigail, Brian, Lucy, Chelsea, Jonathan, Tregg, JayIen, Max, Trevor; and his step-grandchildren, Drew, Elise, David, Tyler and Brooke. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles “Chuck” Lofgren; his mother, Mary Lofgren; and his grandson, Nathan.
A memorial service will be held at 4th Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 3 at 1 p.m.
