David Hammond’s well known “You Really Should Eat This” videos will be showing at the Chicago Food Film Fest this weekend. Festival goers will have the opportunity to view two episodes of the food-centric show, “Corned Beef Hash at George’s” and “Feijada at the Taste of Brasil CafĂ©,” on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Kendall College.

“You Really Should Eat This,” is a collaboration between Hammond, the village of Oak Park’s VOP6 TV channel and Wednesday Journal/OakPark.com. The videos are written and hosted by Hammond, filmed and edited by Joe Kreml of the village government and appear at OakPark.com and on the village government’s website and cable channel.

Other food films showing along with Hammond’s that day will be “Best Fish Tacos in Ensenada,” “The Chile Farm,” and “Sweet Legacy.”

The food fest is unlike any other film event because the audience will have the opportunity to not just see the food on screen, but taste it as well. Fish tacos from Taste of Brasil, corned beef hash, chili cheese fries and doughnuts are some of the items that will be served.

Viewing and tasting food (there will also be a little drinking involved) for a good portion of the day can all be yours for $55, the price of one ticket. Plus the event will benefit The Good Food Project, an organization that aims to help children learn more about healthy eating and living.
