The Trinity basketball team knocked off rival Resurrection 62-46 to open Girls Catholic Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

Senior Mikayla Leyden led the Blazers (3-0, 1-0) with 27 points, while Taylor Nazon added 15 and Lauren Prochaska 14.

Trinity had the win well in hand by halftime, leading 27-14 and then 52-28 after three quarters.

The Blazers were without starters Laura Sikora (illness) and Maryam Wilcher (ankle injury).

Trinity hosts Queen of Peace on Thursday before traveling to Whitney Young for the Shoot-Out Tournament on Saturday to take on Milwaukee Riverside, the No. 1-ranked team in Wisconsin.
