OPRF wrestling coach Mike Powell and his battle with polymyositis, a rare autoimmune disease that attacks muscle cells, was featured in a television segment of Sports Illustrated on the NBC Sports Network that first aired Wednesday night.

Powell, an OPRF grad and former state wrestling champ who coached the Huskies to a Class 3A State Dual Team title in 2009, said during the program that his rapidly deteriorating condition will eventually cause him to lose vital physical capabilities, including walking.

The program will re-air on NBC Sports Network throughout the rest of September.
