There is a proud baseball tradition at Oak Park and River Forest High School. Goes back decades and was brought entirely up-to-date this week as the Huskies took a gritty and determined path to the state championship.
This season’s outcome was not pre-ordained. The Huskies didn’t win their conference. And they scrapped their way to the championship with critical performances and a lot of heart. Our congratulations to the Huskies and to Chris Ledbetter, the head coach and OPRF grad who is clearly channeling Jack Kaiser, his one-time coach and mentor.
